New resident in widllife health management at the Quebec Regional Center
CWHC-Quebec is pleased to announce that Amélia Dalpé has started this summer her residency program in wildlife health management. Amélia completed her studies in veterinary medicine at the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire de l’Université de Montréal, during which she was actively involved in the activities of the Union québécoise de réhabilitation des oiseaux de proie (provincial network dedicated to the rehabilitation of birds of prey), as well as at the Exotic animals clinic of the Centre hospitalier universitaire vétérinaire. During her veterinary program, Amélia also completed a year of student exchange at the École Nationale Vétérinaire de Lyon (VetAgro Sup) in France, where she took part in various activities related to wildlife conservation involving, among others, Alpine ibex, black-headed gulls and multiple species of small wild mammals. She also participated in training on ecosystem health, more specifically on conflicts between wildlife and agriculture. After her graduation in 2021, Amélia worked for a few years in emergency medicine for companion animals and exotic animals. Amélia has always been passionate about ecosystem health, particularly the impact of human activities on wildlife health. Amélia is very excited to join the CWHC team for her residency and master’s degree.
